1) Prime Minister Narendra Modi presides over a joint meeting of empowered groups on COVID-19


 Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a joint meeting of empowered groups. The main objective is the planning and implementation of COVID-19 response activities in the country. He also reviewed factors such as nationwide preparedness and availability of hospitals, isolation and immunization facilities against coronavirus, as well as training for disease monitoring, testing and critical care. The Prime Minister directed the concerned groups and officials to ensure adequate production, procurement, and availability of all necessary medical equipment such as PPE, masks, gloves and ventilators.



 2) An online hackathon, "Hack the Crisis", launches solutions for COVID-19 Shri Sanjay Dhotri, Minister of Electronics and IT and HRD launched "Hack the Crisis- India". It is an online hackathon that aims to work on solutions for COVID-19. The main purpose of the hackathon is to find non-medical solutions that will help prevent the COVID-19 virus. This initiative is organized by "FICCI Ladies Organization" and "Hack a Cause-India". This initiative is supported by the Ministry of Electronics and IT. Hackathon is part of a global initiative. 

3) ICMR has allowed TB machines for COVID-19 testing On April 4, 2020,




 the Indian Medical Research Council approved the use of TB machines to perform COVID-19 tests. India is currently the US Using RT-PCR (Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction) test recommended by and approved by FDA. In addition, ICMR recommends using the Truenat test. The Truenat test is currently used to detect drug resistant TB.


 4) JEEVAN: Railway has created a prototype of a ventilator

; Prototype ICMR checks JEEVAN is a low cost energy efficient ventilator manufactured by the train coach factory, Kapurthala. The cost of the machine is a fraction of the cost of the original design. The prototype is to be tested by ICMR before mass production. Without a compressor the cost of the machine is around Rs 10,000.
